Brainstorm 4 - To write Chapter 4

Beat 5 (333 words) - The First Contact with the Monster: “The characters have their initial contact with the monster, but are unaware of the true threat it poses.”

- Fran re-enters the barn?

- Is she compelled to go back in the barn?  To avoid some other danger? 

- Fran leaves the barn, hides nearby, and watches as Fiona creeps into the barn.

- Something horrible happens in the barn.  You see the person get killed or no?

- Can say “Fran is freaked out by what she saw, but not say what she saw at this point and then jump back to the light lunch”?

- Fran can bust in on the light lunch and yell to everyone what she saw.

-Morningstar book can contain clues for later. “Any book is a book of clues”

Beat 6 (666 words) - Shit Gets Real: “May be the first death or when seriously spooky activity begins; regardless, tis is when the danger becomes evident and unavoidable.”

-light lunch

- eating cat food?  Mysterious meat, they don’t know what it is.  It can be like “This is specially made for your urges, you monsters”

- Elsie, Fiona, and Fran are not at the light lunch.  No one to serve the light lunch, it is a buffet.

- Madam eats gross.  Sloppy, mouth open.  We are starting to get grossed out not just creeped out by Madam.  There is something not right about her.

- Madam is eating a whole roast rabbit.  Which looks like a cat, rabbit carcasses just do.  And it is a cat, but they say it’s a rabbit

- Everyone else has some other food.  Madam is served only the rabbit as her lunch.  She eats it with her fingers, tearing it apart and getting greasy and sloppy.

- Fran bursts in, screams about monster, everyone says she’s crazy, then the monster attacks

- Madam pretends not to know what this monster is?  Or does she really not know?

- monster: a cat’s head sewn onto the body of Fiona

- Elsie (secret from the reader at this point), is the one who did the sewing, threw the body in the bog, it came back to life and attacks during light lunch.  Elsie does this because she saw the whisper and knows that Fiona’s rebellion has turned from just talk to some kind of action.
